Tangier, Chefchaouen and Fes: planning a northern Morocco trip

A Morocco holiday can begin in the north. Tangier, Chefchaouen and Fes offer different city experiences, so start with the places you want to explore and the number of nights available.

Choose your arrival and finishing cities

Tangier is a starting point to discuss if your journey begins in northern Morocco. Chefchaouen offers a mountain setting and blue medina streets; Fes adds another historic city to the route. Share your confirmed arrival point and where you need to finish before choosing hotels. A route ending in Fes needs different arrangements from one returning to Tangier.

Give each stop enough time

Avoid treating every destination as a brief photo stop. Tell the team whether you want time to wander, a guided city visit or a slower stay in Chefchaouen. Ask for a day-by-day proposal that separates driving from visiting. Walking, luggage and room preferences matter when planning several cities, especially if you are travelling with children or people who prefer shorter walks.

Transfer or organised tour?

A private city-to-city transfer is useful when you have already arranged your stays and need to travel between them. A multi-day tour requires agreement on the daily route and any accommodation or visits. Our published Casablanca tours and Fes–Marrakech desert route are separate products; they do not automatically include a Tangier departure. Request the northern route you actually want.

Connect the north with the rest of Morocco

If the Sahara is also a priority, review the published Fes-to-Marrakech itinerary and discuss how it fits after your northern stay. If you prefer Rabat or Casablanca, ask for a different finishing route. Do not assume all these destinations fit into the same short trip. Send your dates, nights available, group size and onward travel details for a personal proposal.
